Upgrades to the Trip database

A quick update on some new features of the TRIP database(www.tripdatabase.com):

The TRIP Database is a clinical search engine designed to allow clinicians to quickly find answers to their clinical questions using the best available evidence.

Search history - allows the easy creation of combination searches

Related articles - Under each search result is a 'Related' link that works in a similar way to PubMed's related articles. Basically, you find an article you like and pressing 'Related' returns results that are semantically similar.

Labs (http://www.tripdatabase.com/labs) - Two features in this:

1) Search wizard (http://www.tripdatabase.com/search/wizard) - a search based on the PICO model.
2) Related articles (http://www.tripdatabase.com/search/related) - using the same technology as the related articles mentioned above.

Wellbeing rooms at GOS ICH

For students and staff looking for a moment of calm from their studies or working day may be interested to know that last summer the EDI team introduced two new spaces to be the GOS ICH community. There are two wellbeing rooms, situated on the ground floor of the Philip Ullman Wing, where you can pray, meditate or reflect. It’s also a place for those who are looking for a calm space to take a bit of time out.  Room G0.1 is intended for multi-faith prayer and religious observance, and as a quiet space. Room G0.02 is a dedicated quiet space for wellbeing activities such as meditation, mindfulness practise, quiet reading, or for organised wellbeing activities (except on Fridays between 12:30pm and 2:30pm when it is reserved for prayer). Child Death Review Study

This report has been published by the Confidential Enquiry into Maternal and Child Health (CEMACH). It is the first report of a national confidential enquiry specifically focussed on child deaths. There were six key findings: Key Finding 1: The feasibility of confidential enquiries in children: CEMACH recommended that it should prepare a strategy for the future development of the national confidential enquiry for child health in liaison with the National Patient Safety Agency, the Department of Health, the Department for Children, Schools and Families and other relevant bodies. Library Out of Hours Access is back!

We are pleased to announce that we have reintroduced out of hours access to the library to GOS ICH staff and GOSH library members. The library will be open to those granted access at the following times: Monday - Friday: 6:00pm - 10:45pm Saturday and Sunday: 9:00pm - 9:00pm You will need to contact us if you are interested in access so that we can arrange a time for you to come to visit the library and have a fire evacuation induction and familiarisation tour.
