NHS Knowledge and Library Services Awareness Week, Day 4: Bookable meeting and study space for NHS users

Did you know that the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health Library has a meeting room with a capacity of up to 8 people as well as an AV presentation screen for NHS staff? We recommend that you book in advance (in person, via email or telephone), our contact details can be found on our Library webpage . We always welcome feedback from our users to improve our services and build a library around your needs. Please complete our NHS Knowledge Library Services Awareness Week  feedback form and let us know if there is there anything we can do to improve your experience as an NHS library member. The UCL GOS ICH Library also has an online suggestions board as well as a physical suggestions box so that library users have the opportunity to tell us what they they think of the service and how we can improve. The physical suggestions box is located by the lockers as you enter the library, and to post a suggestion online please visit  our virtual suggestions board .

  Did you know that all Trust staff and students can apply for library membership? To apply, fill in the online membership form . Your home library is UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health Library. It’s got 7 GOSH-networked computers, 105 study desks ( with power sockets for your laptop, access to Wi-Fi ), a Quiet Study room, loanable lockers, and holds specialist collections on Paediatrics, Allied Health and Nursing. There are also 5 Explore computers which give you access to UCL Library licensed electronic resources ( journals and databases ). If you have new starters in your department or you would like a refresher of what the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health Library offers for NHS Staff, you can contact us for a library induction. NHS Knowledge and Library Services Awareness Week, Day 2: Skills training for NHS Library members

Did you know that the library offers a range of skills training to help you find, evaluate, and manage evidence and information more efficiently? Our specialist library staff provide online sessions on literature searching using Ovid databases (Medline, Embase and PsycINFO), PubMed, reference management software including Mendeley, and much much more.  You can book sessions around your availability. We have also produced  training materials and guidance  to support the development of information literacy and library skills to inform clinical practice, study, and research.  You can contact us for further information on any of these services or to arrange an individual appointment, please email the GOS ICH Library team at ich.library@ucl.ac.uk.

NHS Knowledge and Library Services Awareness Week, Day 1: Online resources for NHS users, including NHS Knowledge and Library Hub

D id you know that the new NHS Knowledge and Library Hub brings together all online library and evidence resources in one place? The Hub offers an intuitive search experience and provides access to all content available to you, including resources funded at national and local level. Content available through the Hub includes: ·          over 7,000 electronic journals ·          electronic books, including OUP handbooks ·          one-click access to full-text, request a copy, or contact your home library ·          clinical decision support tools such as UpToDate and BMJ Best Practice ·          NICE pathways and guidelines ·          databases like Medline, EMBASE, CINAHL and PsycInfo. An NHS OpenAthens account is needed to access most resources – you can register for NHS OpenAthens for free if you don’t have an account already. NHS Knowledge and Library Services Awareness Week 13 -17 June

  Did you know that next week (13-17 June 2022) is NHS Knowledge and Library Services Awareness Week?  UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health Library will be highlighting what we offer to our NHS users. Each day next week we will focus on a range of library services and show you how you can access these services. It is not to be missed!  Join us on Twitter  @UCLGoshICH  next week. To start the week off, please join our  Introduction to the Library and to literature searching for GOSH staff  Library skills session this Monday 13 June, 11:00 - 12:00, to find out how you can make the most of your Library.
