UCL Staff and Students ID cards
We would like to remind UCL staff and students (including hospital staff with honorary UCL contracts) of the importance of picking up their UCL ID card: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/estates/security/systems/identity-cards/.
This card is different from the ICH ID card, which is only of use at the ICH.The UCL card is recognised throughout UCL.Without it staff and students will not be able to access many library services and will not be able to gain entry to many UCL buildings including libraries.
Staff and students need the card to: borrow books and other materials, to request inter-library loans and to request items which are out on loan.Without this card they will not be able to use printing, scanning and photocopying facilities at UCL libraries, including at our library.
Cards are issued by Security Systems in the Andrew Huxley Building.The office is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 4.45pm.Please bring one form of personal identification (e.g. bank card, driving licence, ICH or GOSH card etc.)…

UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health Library refurbishment
The UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health Library will be having a complete makeover this summer. To carry out this work we will be closing from the 19 June until mid-August.
What services will available while the library is shut?library staff will be available to help students and staff in the Wolfson Centrescheduled training sessions will carry on as advertisedstaff will also be available for one to one support
Where else can I study?
You can use any of UCL’s libraries. The closest one is the School of Pharmacy Library
What about borrowing books & using the MSc. dissertations held in the library? What about returning books?
Unfortunately, the library will be a building site and entry will not be permitted for library staff or users. Borrowing will not be possible and we regret that we cannot operate a fetching service.
